STAR Your World Discovers Ras Al Khaimah

DMC in Ras Al Khaimah

The team at STAR Your World have returned from an unforgettable trip to the United Arab Emirates. Whilst in the UAE & Oman the STAR Your World discovered many beautiful landmarks, hotels and venues to better promote the region to our Customers. We had the pleasure of staying in Ras Al Khaimah for two nights and wow – what a beautiful up and coming region that is only an hour’s drive from Dubai.

We stayed in Ras Al Khaimah (or what the locals call it – RAK) the first night was spent at the gorgeous Waldorf Astoria which opened in August 2013, it has a beautiful 350 metre private white sandy beach which is where they hold their record-breaking firework displays each year (last year’s display was 14 minutes!). Waldorf Astoria plan to be fully sustainable by 2030 and are going in the right direction to achieve that. The hotel itself has an award-winning spa and is directly opposite an 18-hole championship golf course popular with golfing groups. We see why guests love this hotel, their 346 bedrooms are mostly of a suite category.

The second night we stayed at the beautifully relaxing Intercontinental hotel, which opened just two months prior. All the bedrooms are spacious have a beautiful ocean-facing view. The Intercontinental also boasts a beautiful ballroom that can fit up to 250 delegates in banquet style and a terrace area for exclusive dinners.

We enjoyed a lunch at restaurant 1484 by Puro which serves international cuisine. Located at the top of the mountain of Jebel Jais 1484 metres above sea level, hence the name. The drive was pleasant through the mountain a 45-minute drive from Ras al Khaimah. Overlooking the beautiful landscape of Jebel Jais that is truly breath-taking with panoramic views. This venue can be privatised and can take up to 170 people for exclusive use.

The restaurant is very close to the longest zip wire in the world. Holding the Guinness World Record since 31st January 2018. With the zip line running a span of 2,831.99 metres through the mountain.

The Ritz Carlton Al Wadi desert we visited; this luxury hotel is situated in 500 hectares of desert land with 100 luxurious spread-out villas with private pools the smallest being 153 square metres. As the resort is so large, each villa comes with its own bicycles that you are free to use around the resort.  We enjoyed a falcon show followed by an exquisite dinner on the terrace at one of their restaurants “The Farmhouse” and the setting was stunning with low lighting and a tranquil atmosphere.

For those larger events, the Al Hamra International Exhibition and Conference Center is amazing right on the beach and can accommodate up to 3,000 delegates in theatre style with the big advantage of having an outside area.
