Although modern day technology allows for many meetings to take place virtually, visiting clients face-to-face always offers a more unique and personal experience. Building relationships with clients has always been at the heart of STAR Your World and we take pride in our vast network of client relationships. This is why it’s so important to us that we nurture these vital contacts by going to visit our clients in person. During our day of meetings, we experienced three incredibly unique properties, each offering its own distinct allure. From the modern charm of a converted house to the rustic atmosphere of an old mill, and finally, to the timeless appeal of a barn renovation; each of the offices provided a fascinating backdrop to our meetings. This was a day schedule in the Leicester area, where quite a few of our event planning clients are based.
Meeting #1: A&I Events
Our first stop of the day was A&I Events’ converted house office, which was wonderful. The team were very accommodating, leading us into a modern out-house meeting room. We gave a presentation of our portfolio of hotels & DMCs to a team of 16. It was excellent to have such a huge turnout as we weren’t expecting so many of the team to be available to join the meeting. However, we were grateful to see some familiar faces and also meet some new faces, which was lovely.
Meeting #2: Noble Events
Next, we visited Noble Events at their converted old mill offices. Upon our entrance, we were met by the Operations Manager at the old-style lift, which we had to use to reach the office. Its painted wooden panel walls were chipped and the metal shutter was manual, with a handle. We arranged a nice, anti pasti-style lunch on the table for the team to share whilst we gave our presentation of our portfolio of hotels & DMCs.
After getting in touch with the building management company, we discovered the rich history of the property. The office was originally a hosiery factory, for Cartwright & Warner, built in 1875. During the Industrial Revolution, the factory provided jobs to 2000 employees until its closure in 1929, where it was converted into flats. During our visit, the industrial style of the office proves that the property’s story is etched into its architecture and decor.
Meeting #3: Tyler Events
Our final meeting of the day was with Tyler Events, at their barn conversion office. We followed a long, winding country road through fields and farmland until we reached the office. The area was tranquil and peaceful, making an excellent backdrop for a small, intimate meeting with the team. This was a fabulous opportunity to update them about any changes to our portfolio of hotels & DMCs, and to receive valuable updates about their recent events and business.
Protecting our planet is so important to us. We aim to be as sustainable as possible when travelling. By ensuring that we are using electric cars to commute to event planning offices, we reduce our company’s carbon footprint, taking one step closer in the right direction to protect our planet. We also make sure to make our journey worthwhile, visiting multiple offices in one region at a time.
Clearly, no two days are the same at STAR Your World: a quiet day in the office writing blog posts, attending a webinar for India & Saudi Arabia, and meeting clients across the country are just a few of the experiences I’ve had working as the Marketing Executive at STAR Your World. Whilst so much can be done virtually nowadays, we always prefer in-person meetings, with both agencies and corporate clients, as it gives us the chance to not only nurture our relationships, but to foster new relationships with clients as we know there are always changes in personnel and business.
